Alright, for all those who love Alice in Wonderland, you may immediately react when you read the heading and look at the painting and say, huh! Mr. Rabbit was a white rabbit in the story!! Yes, this one is not white, but certainly it is also in a hurry like Mr. Rabbit given the alert look in its eyes. This was the first thing that caught my eye when I saw this beautiful picture captured by my Instagram friend @uyousuf who is from Michigan US. And even here, Mr. Rabbit must be saying, The hurrier I go, the behinder I get.
My life is quite like Mr. Rabbit, although I don't hold the watch in my hand, I always have one eye on the clock. Thanks to that little calender panel on the right hand corner of the laptop screen which is so beautifully and strategically placed that without straining your eyes much you can keep a watch on the time with a blink of your right eye. The time keeps ticking and I try to keep pace and I am mostly running behind time. Busy lives, deadlines, urgent client requests to attend and important household responsibilities to attend. All these together make me feel I am always in a rush, just like Mr. Rabbit.
I generally don't go out nowadays as the threat of getting affected by COVID -19 is still there and I have a toddler to manage at home. So the photographs that are posted or shared on social networking sites come as instant inspiration to paint indoors. I save them and look at them later and paint. These nature and wildlife photographers are gifted to capture the simple things in nature in an artistic way. Capturing the subject in the right lighting and position, especially when it has animals as subject must be extremely challenging. My sincere thanks to all these photographers. They have the vast nature to capture in their lens and gift it to the world to savour the moments much later than when it happened. And, for the artists like me all we have is as Vincent Van Gogh said, "I have nature, art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?". This is the only breather when running with the clock like Mr Rabbit :). Hey Mr. Rabbit .... Mr. Rabbit... Wait Please!!!!
